En fait ce cri a été utilisé la première fois dans un film de 1951 appelé Distant Drums ainsi que plusieurs autres films classique. Mais c’est Ben Burtt, technicien sonore de Star Wars qui a fait la revivre en 1977. Depuis, on l’entend par tout. Voici la liste de quelques films utilisant ce cri et elle s’allonge de jour en jour.
